Conference 2007: Travel information

Find out how to get to the conference centre by air, road, rail and coach, plus parking information.

From the airports

London
Coaches run regularly from London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports to Cardiff bus station, see by coach for more details.
There are also good links to the train stations from these airports and details can be found at the link in the section by train.

Bristol
You can take the Bristol International Flyer to Bristol Temple Meads train station, which goes every 15 minutes at peak times. Trains to Cardiff from Bristol are usually every half hour, see by train for more details.
The International Flyer also connects Bristol coach station with the airport and Service 202 departs Cardiff Bus Station daily between the hours of 0430 and 1730, stopping at Newport Bus Station on route. Combined through tickets are available.

Cardiff
Checker cars: official taxi operator for the airport, located outside the arrivals hall to the right as you exit the building.Taxis are available upon arrival, or can be booked in advance by e-mailing cardiff@checkercars.com or calling +44 (0)1446 711747.

A rail link connects the terminal to Cardiff Central via a free shuttle bus to and from Rhoose Cardiff International Station. Trains run in each direction every hour to Cardiff Central Station

By road

The M4 and will bring you straight into the North of Cardiff. Leave the M4 at junction 29 and join the A48 signposted for Cardiff and Caerdydd. Branch left signposted Dock and Cardiff East, at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Southern Way and A4161. Branch left then at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Newport Road, at the third set of traffic lights bear left then at the next traffic lights turn left continuing on the A4161 signposted City Centre and Penarth. At the Golden Cross pub turn left, at Callaghan Square junction turn left onto the A470 under the railway bridge and at the traffic lights turn right onto Lloyd George Avenue. At the Flourish roundabout take the 2nd exit on the A4119 signposted Grangetown, keep right onto Bute Place, then turn left onto Adelaide Street. Next turn right onto Stuart Street, then left onto Havannah Street. St David’s Hotel and Spa is at the end of the road.

By train

Cardiff Central station is the nearest to St David’s hotel and spa and a taxi from the station should take around 10 minutes and cost around £5. Train tickets can be booked and timetables can be found at www.thetrainline.co.uk or you can call National rail on +44 (0) 8457 484 950

By coach

Coaches run between Cardiff bus station and various destinations around the UK and tickets and information can be found at www.nationalexpress.com
